In a lawsuit filed to cancel the CHP provincial congress held in Istanbul on October 8, 2023, the court ruled to remove CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and the current board. The court also ordered the appointment of a five-person panel as trustees .
A 5-person committee was appointed as trustees.A delegation consisting of Gürsel Tekin , Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz and Erkan Narsap was temporarily assigned to the Istanbul Provincial Directorate.
